Recent Study: Soups Market Trends in Brazil - June 2013


While three out of four Brazilians take soup, the habit of consuming it is uncommon. About a quarter of consumers make soups 'less than once a month'. The homemade soup is the most popular: more than a fifth of Brazilians consume 'once or twice a week.' Among the processed, the highlight is for dehydrated, where there are better opportunities for integration category.

The solid food is still priority in supply of Brazilians, mostly rice, beans, meat and vegetables, usually prepared at home. Typically, the soup tends not to be regarded as satisfactory as an option a normal meal.




Explore satiety and attributes of home-cooked meals in the products may be a way to make the category more attractive to consumers. Young and consumers who live alone are even more open to the convenience of processed variations.
